The Vennbahn runs from Aachen in Germany through Belgium to Troisvierges in Luxembourg. Around 125 kilometres of asphalt and gentle gradients bring the scale of a railway journey to bicycle pace. The route can be ridden in either direction.
The six suggested stages are not a compulsory six-day schedule. Raeren–Monschau repeatedly crosses the German–Belgian border; farther along, the scenery takes in the High Fens area and Ardennes foothills. Leave room in the day for stops and short diversions.

Before travelling, check the latest route notices and GPX file, and respect signs and closed sections on the ground. Plan the return journey and accommodation separately from daily distance targets.
