Honda has unveiled the 2027 model year CBR1000RR-R Fireblade family in Milan. The company says roughly 75% of its components have been newly designed. The range comprises the standard Fireblade, the Fireblade SP with electronically controlled suspension, and a new HRC Works Edition developed as a homologation model for the World Superbike championship.
The aluminium frame and rear swingarm are central to the redesign. Honda says frame lateral rigidity has been reduced by 20% while torsional rigidity is maintained, aiming to improve feel in corners. Optimising wall thickness saves 440 grams on the standard and SP frames. The reworked swingarm is intended to sharpen feedback from the rear tyre; these figures describe component construction, not the whole motorcycle’s weight.
The 999 cc four-cylinder engine gains a two-stage variable-length intake that changes the airflow path across the rev range. The HRC Works Edition stands apart with aerodynamic front winglets and racing-oriented parts. Honda designed this version for one rider, and its road legality will depend on the rules of each market.
