British builder Marc Bell started the XZR900 Thunderbolt with a Yamaha XSR900, but its silhouette recalls 1990s sport motorcycles. Haxch Moto made the full fairing and fuel tank from aluminium. Bell shaped the metal in his workshop instead of simply fitting an off-the-shelf plastic body kit.

The changes go beyond appearance. According to the builder, a custom linkage lifts the rear by 40 mm, while Maxton suspension, Dymag wheels and HEL brake components complete the machine. These choices show how a tribute to an earlier racing era can sit alongside contemporary chassis and braking hardware.

What makes the Thunderbolt interesting is not how closely it copies any one older model. Hand fabrication lets Bell draw several memories of sport motorcycles into a new set of lines and proportions. It is an example of how material and craft can shape a custom motorcycle as strongly as its paintwork.
