The Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello has movable airflow deflectors beside its fuel tank. Opening them automatically lets a compact motorcycle adapt its wind protection to riding conditions.

In the original Tour settings, the deflectors open above 70 km/h and close when speed falls 20 km/h below the opening threshold. This gap prevents repeated cycling around the trigger speed. In Rain mode they stay open. The rider adjusts the windscreen electrically, independently of the selected mode.

V100 development included over 200 hours of airflow simulation and wind-tunnel work. That continues a longer engineering tradition: Moto Guzzi opened its Mandello del Lario wind tunnel on 12 April 1954.
